The Lions in Retreat

A new painting in the Defensive Postures series.  This one sprung from the picture I was using as a desktop pic since I inadvertently changed it during Honeybear Massacre.  I really like the head on the palace guardian lion, and since I used his legs in Honeybear, I figured why not throw in the head.  I really like the blue stencil over the city.  Have be careful not to overuse it.

A bit of National/Internet Press for Cianfrani Show!

Gallery onefive4 gave the show in Georgetown a shout out.  Thanks for the support, Christopher Priority!  The show is up for a couple of months.  I have set up a Facebook event for the show and If a opening seems appropriate after a month or so, I’ll keep everyone apprised.

Week of Mondays: A Wedding Present

Ah blazing summer is in the air.  It is the time here at davidlamplugh.com that we think of love and Mexican beer.  With that in mind, here is a wedding present I did for my former co-workers Kayla Mullis and Nigel Fenton who are getting hitched sometime soon.  David at davidlamplugh.com is great with dates, fantastic with numbers so this painting will probably get to them a month too late.  It is of their cat, Monday, who is human potty trained and looks like it should rule Manchuria with an iron fist.

Evasion of Taxes

A third piece for the war wagons series, this one with realistic foliage in the pot.  I used a crowquill pen for the animal hair, an innovation only made possible by using acrylic as thin and pigmented as Golden High Flow or F&W.   12″x24″  Acrylic on Canvas, Copyright 2014, David Lamplugh.
