This is the beginning of a smaller compliment to Defensive Postures. I don’t know how many pictures of drones there are on the internet, but we are fix in’ to find out. This Cape Weaver picture was irresistible for it’s lighting. I ended up taking the flower pic myself, mostly because it was difficult to find a flower shot with a big old squarish shadow on it.
My 3rd Sushi chart print went on sale online today. Thanks to Vince Torres for putting me in the show and Christopher Piccinich for posting the photo essay I shot for the show.
The Defensive Postures series continues with this rabbit inspired piece. There are four rabbits represented, so I called it Rabbits 4. The wasp nest imagery is symbolic of the series central theme. I’m going to probably work it into future paintings.
It’s time to go out to the Ghost Town again. Start time has been changed to 4pm and will go to eleven.http://www.ghosttownaustin.com
Gallery onefive4 gave the show in Georgetown a shout out. Thanks for the support, Christopher Priority! The show is up for a couple of months. I have set up a Facebook event for the show and If a opening seems appropriate after a month or so, I’ll keep everyone apprised.
This is the second one of my high art sushi charts. Look for these in a set of placemats as well as a giclee edition. I should have a few in Cherrywood Art Fair, in which I will have a booth. That show is December 14th. I might have them available by the show in Manor. I’ll keep people posted.
This is a little departure from what I have been doing, but I think the other half of it, also 30×40 will cement it into a small cohesive series.
I don’t know when I first came up with this idea, but It has something to do with really admiring the aesthetics of sushi. The chef seeks contrast and perfection and proportion and I admire that. To honor the sushi aesthete, I have done a sushi selector, albeit a high art one. It has japanese numerals on it so I can add a key for the print edition. What’s that you say? Print? Yes, this painting was made to have a print edition. Not only that, there will be at least 2 of them. That’s right, you can have a collection of them for around 100 dollars. The original is for sale, contact me through my site or through dm on instagram.
A painting of a hawk at 16″x20″ . The image of the cannon is one I’ve been wanting to use for a while. This painting uses Canvasland Hemp Canvas, the new slim series. I’d like to thank Canvasland for gifting me this canvas to try. It was fantastic! http://canvasland.net I have prints on sale at Spratx Gallery 501 Pedernales, Austin, Tx and of course at Guzu Gallery: http://guzugallery.storenvy.com/products/8859336-heroes-in-a-halfshell-plus-pizza-david-lamplugh-children-of-the-80s
